Hi all,

I’ve always been confused about donkey breeding. I know that their GP decreases as you breed them and on the GP rankings for donkeys, the ones at the top are the ones with the lowest GP, around 197 points and skills around 330. But then for the skills ranking of donkeys, the ones at the top are donkeys with GP around 308 and skills around 370.

So, because I’m trying to decide whether to embark upon breeding donkeys, I guess I’m confused about the point of it all. Yes I could aim for the lowest GP I can, but as the GP decreases so will the skills which will make it harder for them to win competitions needed to reach 100 BLUP (I’ve assumed the higher the BLUP, the more of a GP decrease I’ll get).

And what about using Aphrodite’s Tears on a donkey? Does that double the skill decrease or does it allow for an increase in skills or do the skills decrease at half the rate?

If anyone is a donkey breeding expert, your answer would be greatly appreciated, thank you! default smiley (l)

To be honest it is exactly as you suspect!

The challenge with breeding Donkeys is that as you decrease their GP you also decrease the maximum skills they can get.. this makes blupping them that much harder.

The higher blup of the parents, the more GP decrease you get, correct.

Using Aphrodite's tears will still increase the amount of skills the foal has. Having a positive blup will never mean a foal gets less in born skills, it will always give them more.

There is a divine that also improves skills of donkey foals.. one of the prehistoric ones!

Essentially breeding Donkeys is a unique challenge that gets increasingly more difficult if you try to achieve 100 blup each generation but it can be fun in it's own right.
